I hate links to sites requiring registration, but this article (and the Super! Happy Fun-Time! gogo 80s annual report photograph along for the ride) is such a great cross-section of P.T. Barnum World’s Fair (read article for iroNY) hokum and the possible onset of AI that may ultimately seek to eradicate all sentient, carbon & water-based life forms (barkeep! two carbons & water…there’s a good lad) from this planet (if they have not already…). For more Robot fun check out ‘Robot Stories’ at your local indie-theatre, and try to catch the restored print of ‘Metropolis’ — vry good.
Recently my friend posted his review of ‘Hang On Mike’ by The Candy Butchers. And I just have to concur that the album’s amazing, the song Painkillers moves me to the point where it is almost painful to hear, but yet at the same time I am repeatedly compelled to play it…creating delicious cognitive/emotional dissonance.
More music shtuff: Peter Gabriel is backing a new Digimusic Initiative. And since it’s PG, it naturally comes equipped with its very own manifesto.
